Why is it important to use multiple forms of communication when trying to reach a target audience? What would be the risks of only using one form of media communication? Respond to at least two other student postings.
There is a wise tale that states “there are more than one way to skin a cat,” and this is true when determining which of the many different forms of media to use effectively in order to get a message across. There are different types of attitudes, emotions, and cognitive levels when delivering messages with various forms of communication. The book states “Advertising consists of persuasive messages that identified sponsors send to consumers through controlled media.” (Marsh p.115) The importance of using multiple forms of media serves several purposes which work hand in hand to ensure a single message was delivered. Another purpose of using multiple forms of media is because society deems this to be the new era of communication. In every home in America there are about two televisions per household along with a radio, computer with Internet access, and one person who commutes to work. Each day we are faced to come into direct contact with all of the media communication. By touching basis with many different types of communication there is a bigger chance of a having your event or product come in contact with a larger audience resulting in more exposure and awareness. Using one form of media communication will limit your potential viewership. The single form of media communication has only one chance to come in contact with your audience while multiple media communication forms have more opportunities to come in contact with their audience allowing more opportunities for viewership. Another risk of single form of media communication is if the message is delivered a wrong communication channel. The more times an event or occasion is able to be viewed in the public, the greater chance for a loyal customer.
